Racer Positions

An advantage in Verstappen's advantage: his teammate Tsunoda is in front of him by a single position. It's improbable to interfere with Red Bull's main man.

Media Conversations

Sky interviewing Sky now: Gary Neville is with Mercedes.

The analyst is looking forward to the 2026 season, interviewing Adrian Newey about his stepping up to the team team principal.

Starting Positions

Just sixteen vehicles on the grid. It was another poor grid-setting session for Lewis Hamilton: after coming twentieth and final in Las Vegas, resulting in an eighth-place finish in the grand prix, he did not manage to advance of Q1 once more on the previous day. The team have consequently made changes to his setup and so he begins from the starting area.

The team's Stroll and the Alpine pair of Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto are all starting from the same position.

Driver Comments

"We take the experience for tomorrow," states Isack Hadjar, starting eleventh. There will be a lot of that.

Constructors' Championship

The focus isn't solely on the individual championship: McLaren have run away with the team championship but the team, with a forty-point advantage over Red Bull, are aiming to seal second place this weekend. George Russell can help them achieve that from second place, and Antonelli will begin immediately after the leader.

Previous Results

Piastri won that day – as he did last year, as well. The driver from McLaren is attempting a third consecutive win.

Short Race Importance

Alright, approximately 20 minutes to go until the sprint race gets under way. Barring disaster, its main importance is as an indication of future events, instead of significant in its itself, with just eight championship points awarded to the winner. However, second place in this race was enough for the driver to become champion in a prior season.

Max Verstappen claimed F1 world title after his teammate's accident of Qatar GP sprint race.
